DESCRIPTION

Carbonate Rock

In geology and mineralogy, the term “carbonate” can refer both to carbonate minerals and carbonate rock, both are dominated by the carbonate ion CO⅔.

DID YOU KNOW

Carbonate Rock

Acts as a source of chemical lime (CaO) and magnesia (MgO) for the chemical process industries.

Metal Oxide

Zinc Oxide – required for vulcanization of rubber, additive to concrete, sunscreen, skin care lotions, antibacterial and antifungal properties, food additive, and white pigment.

Magnesium Oxide – used as a basic refractory material for crucibles and as a principal fireproofing ingredient in construction materials.

Calcined Alumina – aluminium oxide heat treated at temperatures in excess of 1050C to drive off nearly all chemically combined water.

Fused Alumina – calcined alumina that is melted in electric-arc furnaces, cooled, crushed and recast into desired shapes.
