Product Overview

Prestia Gypsum is a high purity, naturally occurring calcium sulphate dihydrate mineral used as a foundational raw material in the manufacture of plasters, plasterboard and construction finishing systems. Through controlled calcination, Prestia Gypsum can be processed into calcined gypsum products such as Plaster of Paris, delivering materials that reliably hydrate and set when mixed with water. This controlled mineralogy ensures predictable setting behaviour, dimensional stability and excellent surface finish across construction and industrial applications.

Calcined gypsum derived from Prestia Gypsum, including Plaster of Paris or calcium sulphate hemihydrate, rehydrates on contact with water to form a solid gypsum matrix. This reaction provides strong set development, smooth surface quality and consistent workability, making it well suited to jointing, finishing and moulding applications. The controlled calcination process enables predictable hydration kinetics, supporting consistent application performance and reliable finishing characteristics.

Prestia Gypsum and its Plaster of Paris derivatives are widely used in internal building applications, architectural detail casting, repair compounds and decorative finishes. They are also utilised in speciality industrial coatings and technical systems where controlled set time, mould release behaviour and surface quality are critical. High purity and controlled particle characteristics contribute to dependable processing and repeatable performance in both manual and mechanised application systems.

RBH supplies Prestia Gypsum materials suitable for construction, finishing and specialist industrial use, supporting manufacturers and applicators requiring reliable setting behaviour, surface consistency and long term performance.
