Kaolin (China Clay)

Kaolin (China Clay) is a naturally occurring hydrated aluminium silicate mineral with a fine particulate structure, high whiteness and broad functional performance across industrial formulations. Our range of Kaolin comprises multiple grades including BP approved material for personal care and pharmaceutical use, Light clays for high brightness applications and Heavy clays for enhanced opacity and rheology control. Kaolin is formed through the hydrothermal degradation of granite and processed to deliver controlled particle size distribution and reliable functional properties.

In coatings and inks, Kaolin improves dry hiding, increases refractory performance, extends titanium dioxide, enhances whiteness and provides controlled rheology. In rubber and elastomer systems, hydrous and calcined versions reinforce compounds, improve abrasion resistance and lower compression set. In plastics and thermoplastics, kaolin functions as a cost effective extender and performance modifier, supporting dimensional stability and enhanced surface finish. BP Kaolin grades are suitable for body powders and cosmetic applications where regulatory compliance and purity are required.
