Magsil® Talc is a high quality, naturally occurring hydrated magnesium silicate used as a versatile functional mineral across a wide range of industries. As a performance additive and extender, it improves stiffness, dimensional stability, surface finish and cost in use in plastics, rubber, coatings, adhesives and composites.

Available in a wide selection of particle sizes and engineered grade families, Magsil® Talc supports improved melt behaviour, opacity and reinforcement while contributing to lightweighting and enhanced mechanical performance. Its compatibility with multiple polymer systems and formulation types makes it a dependable choice for formulators seeking consistent quality, reliable supply and performance optimisation.

The Magsil® portfolio includes established grade families such as STAR, DIAMOND, SUPER, ULTRAFINE, PEARL and JADE, alongside high brightness and performance ranges including SAPPHIRE, AMETHYST and TOPAZ. Additional technical grades such as 2628A, 2628C and 3183A provide targeted particle size and performance options for applications requiring specific reinforcement, processing or cost balance. Further niche grades, including 2628E and 4230, are also available to support specialised or legacy formulation requirements where specific characteristics are needed.

Particle size and grade options

Magsil® Talc is available across a controlled range of particle size distributions to meet different formulation and processing needs. Grades are offered from fine micronised options at approximately 2 µm (d50) through to coarser reinforcement grades of around 20 µm (d50), with mid range grades commonly used where balanced dispersion and mechanical performance are required.
