Min-U-Gel® Attapulgite Thickeners are a range of attapulgite-based thixotropic thickeners and stabilising agents engineered to provide reliable suspension, rheology control, syneresis resistance and flow behaviour across water- and solvent-based liquid formulations.

Product Overview

Min-U-Gel® is a range of high quality attapulgite clay products processed to fine particulate grades that provide controlled thixotropic thickening, suspension stability, syneresis control and reliable rheological performance in a wide variety of liquid and semi-liquid systems. Naturally occurring hydrous magnesium aluminosilicate is refined to produce colloidal gelling agents with crystalline, rod-shaped particles that quickly form a three-dimensional lattice network in low shear environments and break down under shear, creating the yield pseudoplastic behaviour valued in coatings, construction products and industrial formulations.

The Min-U-Gel® range includes multiple grades tailored to specific end-use requirements. FG provides effective thickening and workability in joint compounds, sealants and mastics. 200 Coarse Grade is widely used in agricultural suspensions, foliar sprays and liquid fertilisers where stable suspension and reduced syneresis are needed. MB Mid-Grade has controlled characteristics suited to molecular sieve binders and precision catalyst supports. 400 Fine Grade excels in paints, coatings, tile adhesives, plastisols and aqueous systems needing consistent rheology and anti-settling performance. 500+ Fine Grade delivers enhanced suspension across pH ranges and ionic conditions, making it versatile in complex coatings and specialty systems.

Min-U-Gel® products can be used alone or in combination with associative thickeners to tailor shear profiles and support easy workability, improved mixing efficiency and shelf-life stability.
