Superfine Dicyandiamide (DICY)

Superfine Dicyandiamide (DICY) is a latent curing agent widely used in epoxy and thermoset resin systems to initiate crosslinking under controlled thermal conditions. Its finely processed particle size ensures excellent dispersion and uniform reactivity, enabling a predictable onset of cure and consistent network development in formulated systems.

DICY functions by reacting with epoxide functionality at elevated temperatures, providing controlled gel times, improved mechanical properties and thermal stability in adhesives, coatings, composite laminates and speciality thermoset systems. The superfine nature of this grade enhances reactivity and reduces cure variability compared with standard dicyandiamide, making it particularly suitable for demanding industrial applications where performance and consistency are critical.

Superfine Dicyandiamide is frequently used in conjunction with accelerators, imidazole based catalysts and latent hardeners to achieve balanced cure kinetics, extended pot life and optimal final network properties in epoxy formulations.
