The range is designed for use as a functional filler and pigment extender where high density, chemical inertness, and low oil absorption are required. The Supreme and MicroSupreme grades are named by their associated top size and are manufactured to provide tight control of particle size, supporting predictable dispersion, surface finish, and formulation stability. These natural grades achieve very low colour and high whiteness, with typical whiteness around L* 94, supported by low levels of contaminants, most notably iron oxide. Grade options within the range include Supreme 45 for applications requiring a coarser natural white barytes, plus finer MicroSupreme grades that support improved surface finish and compatibility in more demanding coatings and polymer systems. Typical grades include MicroSupreme 20, MicroSupreme 15, and MicroSupreme 5, allowing formulators to select the best balance of particle size, rheology, and optical contribution for their system. Across coatings, Supreme Barytes is used to extend white pigments and support durability, strength, rheology, and pigment compatibility. In plastics and thermoplastics, barytes can be incorporated at high loading rates due to low resin demand and good processing rheology, supporting impact strength, sound and vibration deadening, and enhanced aesthetics. The same high density and inert profile also make the range suitable for elastomer compounds and other industrial systems where weight, chemical resistance, and stable colour are key drivers.
