CVC Specialty Chemicals was combined with Emerald Performance Materials’ Reactive Liquid Polymer Division in 2008 to form a new business unit. Both companies had a strong legacy of innovation in specialty materials for thermoset applications. CVC Specialty Chemicals Inc. was founded in 1982. Initially, CVC developed epoxies and grew to become the leading US producer of substituted urea accelerators for curing agents with the acquisition of Omicron Chemical’s substituted urea line in 1995.
Broader manufacturing and R&D capabilities were made possible in 1996 by the purchase and expansion of the 35,000 square foot AKZO Chemical plant in Maple Shade, New Jersey. Plant expansion over time also supported the production of specialized urea catalysts for the composite industry, as well as adding manufacturing capabilities for a new line of epoxy resins. Included in these capabilities are equipment for the production of specialty solid epoxies for adhesive and composite applications and a computer-controlled batch continuous reactor complex for the manufacture of specialty glycidyl derivatives
Our crosslinkers irreversibly change properties to the final optimised level required.
Our base resins, polymers and elastomers provide the essential properties of the end product.
