Kaolin is a naturally occurring hydrated aluminium silicate, which is known for its versatility across a wide number of manufacturing sectors. Formed from the hydrothermal degredation of granite, this product range is used extensively in coatings, rubber, plastics and printing inks. Moreover, we can supply British Pharmocopoeia (BP) approved grades suitable for cosmetics and pharmaceuticals. The range includes hydrous, calcined, ball, and speciality clays.
Key Properties:
- Rubber – Abrasion Resistance, Reinforcement, Low Compression Set.
- Coatings – Titanium Dioxide Extension, Increases Dry Hiding, High Whiteness, Excellent Settling.
Calcined grades are widely used within inks and coatings to modify important physical properties including gloss and whiteness. Key performance benefits include:- TiO2 extension – Increases dry hiding – High whiteness – Good settlement
Both hydrous and calcined clays offer excellent properties across the rubber industry, including hoses, cable insulation and automotive components. Benefits include reinforcement, abrasion resistance, low compression set and electrical insulation.
BP Kaolins find use within body powders and other cosmetic products. Materials are sterilised and follow to BP regulations.
